THE WIND, THE WAVES AND THE GUARDIAN

The first time I tried surfing I was in Italy, in Tuscany, with my uncle Damiano: I was only 10 years old, but I remember very well the feeling of the first white wave pushing me towards the beach. I felt amazing. However, I haven’t kept surfing consistently for a long time, because actually, I was afraid of the sea. 

In 2009, I decided to go to Fuerteventura on holiday, without even knowing where I was going: I was simply looking for a place to rest and enjoy myself. However, the moment I stepped foot on the island, something magical happened: I felt home, and at peace.

I went back home to graduate, but I already knew that I wanted to move to the island: I packed my life in a suitcase and jumped on an airplane.

 This is when surfing came back into my life and I got completely hooked on it. My uncle Damiano, who had moved to the island some years earlier, owned a surf school in El Cotillo, and he began mentoring me for years. One day, he told me: “you are ready to become an instructor”. So i became a Surf Coach in Fuerteventura.

PROFESSIONAL SURF COACH IN FUERTEVENTURA

After that, I got two professional titles, one with the International Surf Association (ISA) and one with Federación Canaria de Surf (FCS). In 2017 I got the ocean lifeguard license with Surf Life Saving Great Britain (SLSGB), which I renew every year since then.

After working for another surf school for many years, I became a freelance surf coach in order to be free to teach according to my values and my personal style, and be able to mentor my students 1:1. I love to be able to support each one of my students in a way that is personalized and tailor made, and this allows me to bring the best out of them.

In the end, what I try to share is the same confidence and peace that Fuerteventura and the teachings of Damiano gave me: the strength to overcome fears and doubts and be free to enjoy the beauty of the ocean.

NEW SURF SCHOOL IN EL COTILLO, FUERTEVENTURA

In 2023, I embarked in a entrepreneurship project together with my partner and we opened a Surf School & Yoga Studio in El Cotillo, Fuerteventura.

This is NALU: Mind Body Surf, where you now find me as the head coach. We also collaborate with other coaches, but I am always in the water too! At NALU we organize surf camps, surf & yoga retreats, daily surf & yoga classes and much more.
