Should I bring my own equipment?
You are welcome to bring your own equipment if you have it. Otherwise everything is included: softboard, wetsuit, leash, wax, SPF sunscreen and changing bucket. Just let me know in advance if you have your own gear
At what time is the session?
The time of each session depends on tides, ocean conditions, wind and your surf level. I will confirm the exact time via WhatsApp message 24 to 48 hours before your session.
Where will the session take place?
The location depends on tides, ocean conditions, wind and your surf level. It could be El Cotillo, the North Shore or another spot on the island. I always choose the best spot for your level on that specific day.
Do I need to be a good swimmer?
You do not need to be a professional swimmer, but you need to be able to swim independently for at least 15 minutes in open water. That said, if you are afraid of the sea but want to try surfing anyway, do not let that stop you. I specialise in working with people who have a fear of the ocean and we can work on it together.
Can I book a session if I have never surfed before?
Absolutely. I specialise in beginners, including people who have never been in the ocean before and people who are afraid of the water. There is no experience required. We start from zero and build from there.
How many sessions do I need to see progress?
This depends on your current level, how often you surf and your individual learning curve. That said, I always recommend a minimum of 3 sessions to start seeing real progress. 5 sessions are even better. The more time we spend together, the more personalised and effective the coaching becomes.
What happens if the conditions are bad on the day of my session?
If the conditions are not suitable for surfing on your session day and you have already paid, we will postpone to the following day. Alternatively, we can use the time productively with a surf skate session, a theory class or a dryland training session focused on surf-specific movement and conditioning. In most cases though, we simply move to the next day.
Do you coach children?
The minimum age for coaching with me is 16 years old.
Can I book multiple sessions in advance?
Absolutely. Get in touch and we can plan everything together. Booking multiple sessions in advance is the best way to make the most of your time in Fuerteventura.
How can I pay?
I accept cash, PayPal and bank transfer. I will send you an invoice via email if you pay in advance, or hand it to you directly when we meet.
What should I bring to the beach?
Water, snacks, sunblock, a towel and a spare swimsuit or underwear. Everything else is taken care of.
What should I eat before a surf session?
Something light that gives you energy. Bananas, dried fruit, a fruit bowl with yogurt, honey and oatmeal are all good options. Avoid heavy meals in the two hours before your session.
Do you offer a transfer service?
Yes. Transfer from El Cotillo to the surf spot and back is included in the session price. If you need to be picked up outside El Cotillo, for example from Lajares or the surrounding area, a small extra charge applies. Contact me for more information.
Do you speak English?
I speak Italian, English, Spanish and a little French. So wherever you are from, we can make it work.
Do you offer online coaching?
Yes. I offer structured online coaching programs for surfers of all levels, wherever you are in the world. You can choose between an 8 Week Program, a 12 Week Program, a Long Term Program for ongoing progression, or a single Online Video Analysis session. Head to the Online Coaching page to find out more.
